Who We Are

We are replanting

Our church is in a season of replanting. This means we are taking the faithful history and people of Pacific Baptist Church and, by God’s grace, seeking to breathe new life and focus into it.

Rather than closing the doors or simply continuing as we always have, a replant is a fresh work of God in a congregation by refocusing on the gospel and recommitting to the mission Jesus gave His church: to make disciples who make disciples and glorify God.

We are thankful for the past, but we are also excited about what lies ahead as we seek to be a healthy, gospel-centered church serving Lincoln City for generations to come.

For this effort, we have joyfully partnered with Send Network, which is the largest church planting network in North America, sending missionaries to spread the gospel, respond to brokenness, and bring about restorative healing.

Since 1995, Pacific Baptist Church has been a beacon of light to Lincoln City.

Beginning with meeting in the back room of a grocery store and then acquiring the community center in the Cutler City neighborhood, we have seen God’s hand of providence carry us into today.

We have been loving our city through various ministries over the years. From harvest parties to food pantries, we’ve been blessed to be God’s instruments of mercy in so many peoples’ lives.

We rely heavily on God’s Word and His steadfast love to lead and guide us. We have always been a family, by God’s grace. And by His grace, we will continue to be just that. A group of messy people who love God, need one another, and who love the people God brings into the life of our church.

What you’ll find with us

  • Find Community.

The Oregon coast can feel like an island. Surrounded by land, but far removed from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities. It’s often where people go to escape such things, but it can create a sense of isolation.

In Christ, we find true communion with God which unites us to other people. We are all piece of a puzzle, and while we may not fit together neatly sometimes, we all need one another.

  • Find Hope.

God grants everlasting and undying hope. He sent us His one and only Son to die the death we deserve. Death was not the end of the story, though. Jesus rose from the grave, defeating both sin and death, showing us His love that saves sinners.

Together, we can remind ourselves of the gospel truths that our hearts need to hear. We can help each other when we fall, when we’re down, when we need hope.

  • Find Joy.

The gospel gives us true joy. Not worldly joy, not fake joy, but true, actual, abiding, wonderful joy. We aren’t perfect at remembering this, and that’s another reason God gave us one another.

Through Christ’s love, we can spread this joy to others. Because of His bringing us together, we can encourage one another, offer each other hope, and reap the fruit of joy that sustains us in the dark days of life.
